Description

There has been little use of this dye in histology. It was suggested by Puchtler, Sweat, and Kuhns as a possible substitute for congo red in amyloid staining, but although it is quite satisfactory for that purpose, it is not popular.

Compare this dye to other direct cotton dyes for amyloid.
